RAYMOND

In 2019, Mr. Raymond joined FCJ as Of Counsel to the Firm. Mr. Raymond's 40 year legal career includes representing multi-national companies, individuals, and government entities. Mr. Raymond is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Of Counsel

From 1986 to 2003, Mr. Raymond was employed as Litigation Counsel for Shell Oil Company and its subsidiaries representing the company in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas. He was a former Assistant Parish Attorney for the City of Baton Rouge and the Parish of East Baton Rouge from 1979 to 1984.

In a practice that spans 40 years, Mr. Raymond has brought to trial both before juries and judges matters involving complex litigation, personal injury, property disputes, insurance coverage, environmental claims, toxic tort claims, and commercial business disputes as well as class action claims. He has litigated matters in oil and gas, expropriations, and condemnations. He continues to perform business legal analysis for clients. He provides various estate planning advice to many of his clients.

Mr. Raymond is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the 22 Judicial District Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Special Activities

  • Mr. Raymond is an active volunteer to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana (formerly Greater New Orleans Metropolitan United Way).

  • He is currently a member of the Coordinating Impact Committee (formerly known as Council) and sits as the volunteer legal advisor to the Committee.

  • He was previously the Co-Chair of the Successful Children and Families Goal area within the Council. He has been involved in United Way activities for the past 25 years.

  • Mr. Raymond has been active in the Louisiana Bar Association where he recently served as a Delegate to the Association’s House of Delegates from 2009 to 2010.

  • He is a current member of the Louisiana Bar Association’s Bar Governance Committee for which he has served the past 14 years.

  • He is also a current member of the LSBA’s Right to Counsel Committee and has been a member for the past 14 Years.
